Somehow people get the impression that this online "virtual reality" is of no consequence, that they aren't accountable - that Allah Ta'ala is aware of everything in the heavens and earth, everything you hold secret in your heart or declare,... that Allah knows eveeeeeeeerything - except what's on your myspace profile ('authobillah).
I'm advocating taqwa in terms of keeping your myspace halal - of having haya' (modesty) and not being of those who publicize their sins openly. Avoiding such things as:- posting pics of yourself uncovered- groups that are like
- "Hottest ____'s on myspace" (where's the haya'?)
- app's for rating how "dateable" you are
- having a huge list of haram music
- being "fans" of totally immoral celebrities
- sending each other alcoholic "drinks"
- horoscopes, fortune telling apps/quizes
- sending Christmas,Easter,Holloween,... greetings- etc. etc. just think about it.
A common thing I hear is that it's "just for fun," but honestly the haram is never funny or something to joke about and what you say, do, and post makes up part of your character. Remember that not only is whatever you're doing online being recorded in your history folder, but it is being recorded in your book of deeds as well. Take a moment to clean up your myspace and give some sincere naseeha to your brothers and sisters. May Allah bless us all with khair in this life and the hereafter insha'Allah.

@lilixana: We need to be careful with the word haram, for me to say that quizzes are haram would be wrong. We should use our common sense when it comes to quizzes that ask questions about our sexlife (astaghfirullah) or go into other details about sins we may or may not have committed. Let's just say those quizzes are a waste of time and not beneficial at all. :o)
